This terms of service explains the Agreement and what you can expect from Legal Hand.

We will provide you with information and resources to help you resolve issues that affect your life.

There are no fees or costs for our help.

We will provide as much assistance as we can. You are welcome to contact us again at any time for additional information or resources for this issue, or a different issue.

Each time you contact us, you will be asked to agree to this Agreement, even if you have agreed to

it before.

The information you will receive from Legal Hand is for general guidance. Legal Hand Volunteers are not attorneys. This means Volunteers and staff cannot give you legal advice and cannot represent you in any legal matter.

We do everything we can to keep your information private, but our conversations are not protected by Attorney-Client Privilege. This means we will not share with anyone what you have told us that would identify you, unless we are required to do so by law.

The Legal Hand Call-In Center keeps information about our conversations in a computer system.

Legal Hand may use general information in our computer system to improve services, but we will

never use your name or personal information.

The Legal Hand Call-In Center may refer you to another community organization or legal services

provider. A referral to a community organization or legal services provider is not a guarantee that

they can help you.

Legal Hand will not assume liability for the way that you use the information or resources that we

provide to you. This means we are not responsible for how you use the assistance we provided.

Agreement to Receive Text Messaging

By contacting Legal Hand for services through SMS, you agree to Legal Hand responding through SMS. Legal Hand does not and will not send any additional SMS to you once Legal Hand’s service is complete. Legal Hand does not and will not send you an SMS until you first contact Legal Hand to receive services. Legal Hand will respond to your inquiry through SMS.
